Book Arrival, Oh Yeah!

Not too long ago, I ordered my copies of the updated books I did. I must say, I am loving how the paperback books came out. They look so awesome. I know children and young adult readers will enjoy turning the real pages of these print books. I am quite happy with the results. I have two more packages coming in and can’t wait to show them off. But, I can show you what arrived today. So here is a sneak preview of what will be on Amazon and Barnes & Noble pretty soon. As a matter of fact, some of these paperback books are already live at these online bookstores. All I can say is that when I opened up that box, I had a huge smile on my face. I love what I do! 3 in a row 13 in a row 2 I’m not good at taking photos, but they still look good to me. Two novels for teens and 4 children books. Turn the pages and enjoy. These book will look good sitting on a bookshelf. Good for book reports too.  Books for homeschooling, Bedtime stories, weekend reading, I’m bored syndromes, circle time entertainment, those precious moments when you want to read to youngsters…..these titles will do the trick. Great stories behind these great looking covers. Pump it up with these books.

Promoting My Books

My Facebook cover by Author Rhonda Patton

Hi everybody, just sitting here at my desk and feeling a little book promoting coming on. I am in a better mood today because the sun is shining even though it is still cold. Hey, what do you expect for the month of February, tank tops and flip flops? I think not! But, those days are coming and I can’t wait. But until then…nothing else to do but promote my books. I could be doing other things….But I am not! Promoting is more fun….yeah I said it….it’s fun and I enjoy it because I have some great reading material for all ages. Just getting the word out!

I’ve been doing a lot of promoting for the ebook versions of my books. I even had ebook sales of 99 cents and free in January.  My goodness, the sales sky rocketed and that put a smile on my face because it showed people were buying the books….now, are they reading them, or just holding on to the keepsakes?

Well today, I am promoting the print versions of all my books. With all these electronic reading gadgets available today, it seems that more and more readers are turning to these devices to read their books, or even those using audio. That’s all fine and good. But I as an author, do not want you to forget about print books. They might seem old fashion and out dated in today’s modern society, but really…they are not! I love the feel of pages between my fingers and using an old fashion book marker to save my spot.

Just wondering, when school kids do book reports today, do they read physical books or do most of them turn to their Kindles? How do your readers choose to read? What do they enjoy doing better?

Feel the pages of these books and get them from Amazon.

How Loud Can You Roar?

lioness 2

Lioness_1

lions-1680-1050-1759

Can you tell the difference between a lion and a lioness? Do you know what role each play in their wild habitat? If you don’t know, it is time to do a little research to find out. I bet you thought I was going to tell you….wrong! It’s fun and entertaining looking up information. I know because I do it all the time. The stuff you can find out is just amazing.
That’s how my book, “Kumani: A New Home for Her Cubs” came about. I had to do a little research, especially after watching a TV show on lions. That sparked my interest and my imagination. These wild beast are fascinating and so regal. You should look the information up. Meantime, why not pick up up the book about Kumani, she might even spark your imagination and interest to do the research. By the way, Kumani is a lioness, she is not the king of the jungle. In her mindset, she is the queen of the jungle and wants to be treated as such. She is tired of having to do all the work. If you do the research, you will find out what all a lioness is responsible for in the wild. However, this is a book of fiction so things are a bit exaggerated, after all the story comes from my imagination. Trust me, it is a delightful, fun and entertaining read for young readers. Come on, meet Kumani and her friend Bantu. Read about their encounters as they go about trying to find a place where Kumani can be treated like the queen that she is.

A New Home for Her Cubs: Children’s Book

April’s Fool day and here I sit, blogging my heart out today. However, I do believe this is going to be my last one for the day…maybe.

I was just sitting here thinking, I am always talking about Broken Voices. Well why not, after all it does seem to be a very popular book, of which I am grateful. But that is not the only book title that I have as an author. With the publishing of “Bittersweet Dayz,” I now have 11 published books that I am pleased to announce. Out of 11 books, guess what…3 of these titles are published by New Line Press. These titles are Broken Voices, Bittersweet Dayz and sitting on the sideline is “A New Home for Her Cubs.” New Line Press has published two books by me for young adult reading and one title that is geared for younger readers from the ages of 9-12, A New Home for Her Cubs is that such book.

When you turn the pages of this book, you will be taken to the heart of Africa; traveling with Kumani, who is not your typical lioness as she tries to find better living conditions for herself and her cubs while she leaves behind her natural environment. Her friend, Bantu, the taking parrot helps her to find this idealistic place; but finding such a place proves to be difficult and quite dangerous when Kumani leaves her pride.

I am going to stop right there before I tell you the entire story. As the author, I do not want to do that, I just wanted to stir up your curiosity…did it work? Does it sound like something you would want your young folks to read? This book is a must have. It’s fun, imaginative and educational too. In my mind, I can see this story as a Disney children’s/family movie, like that of the “Lion King”. So, if you enjoyed that movie, you will certainly enjoy this book.

Like all of New Line Press books, you can get this one as an eBook for Kindle as well as order it in a paperback. This also sells on Barnes and Noble too…Nook and print versions. So come on, get your read on!
