Well this sure has been a move along day. I have accomplished so much in just a short matter of time; including sitting at my table this morning and contemplating a new author project, which I believe is a good idea. Let me tell you what I want to do.
Remember me telling you that I have 11 published books? Three of these titles are published by LuLu.com. Yep, I did the self publishing thing before and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s great to know that you can be an independent author when you have to or need to, or just plain want to because you want to skip all the hoopla of submitting to here and there.
I woke up thinking that these three books need some serious attention because they are collecting cobwebs, simply because they aren’t going anywhere even though they are on Amazon. I think they are lonely and getting tired of being at the bottom and not getting noticed.
Here is my thought, remove them from LULU, and take the files to Create Space, and create a new book series using these books of short stories for kids. I would change the covers and titles too, but keep the content of each book as is. In one of those short stories, my daughter did the illustrations for me, so you know I don’t want to change any of that. She did such a great job. I was also thinking that since there are multiple stories in each book, it would be nice to give this series hard covers instead of paperback. And yes, they would be available for ebooks too….I think.
I even played around with a few names for these short stories series which is for ages 6-10. What do you think of these, “The Jelly-Beanz Series, The Buttercup Series and the Dazzle Me series. I also have listed down “Just for Me Reads.”
I also played around with a little slogan to go with the series too, “Connecting short Stories with Kids, and Gotta Keep on Readin’
I sat here this morning and also retitled each of the books. These titles are much shorter than the original titles, and they all have the word “tales” in them. Rag Doll Tales, Animal Tales and Dazzle Me Tales.
So tell me, what do you think? Is this a good idea when it comes to trying to save my books and give them some attention and attraction?
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. As you can see, I have a lot to think about and a lot of planning and researching to do to see if I can pull this off.
